SEA FREIGHTING - Terms & Conditions ::
Pretty Logical Intl, LLC is a Non-Vessel-Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC), specializing in the export of goods via ocean and air.
LIMITED LIABILITY COVERAGE (LLC)
Less Than Container Load (LCL)
If you are shipping cargo on an LCL basis, in case of any loss or damage to or in connection with the cargo exceeding in actual value the equivalent of $500 lawful money of the United States, per package, or in case cargo not shipped in packages, per shipping unit, the value of the cargo shall be deemed to be $500 per package or per shipping unit. Therefore, the carrier’s liability, if any, shall be determined on the basis of a value of $500 per package or per shipping unit or pro rata in case of partial loss or damage.
MARINE INSURANCE
We recommend purchasing marine insurance. There are two types of marine insurance:
1. All risk insurance
All risk insurance covers damage and or loss of goods. This insurance is only available if, and only if, your goods are professionally packed and stowed for shipping. A packing list with values or commercial invoice must be tendered prior to the shipment sailing.
2. Total loss insurance
Total loss insurance only covers your cargo if the entire shipment is lost. A packing list with values or commercial invoice must be tendered prior to the shipment sailing.
All cargo must be packed properly for export to be eligible for the above-described insurance. If you are shipping used household goods or personal effects, the above-described insurance will only cover loss unless otherwise agreed upon in writing by PLI.
TRANSIT TIME
We make every effort to have your shipment arrive at its destination on time. However, we do not guarantee a specific transit time.
DOCUMENTATION
Documentation must be completed and sent to Pretty Logical Intl before warehouse delivery. Specific instructions will be given in advance and in writing as to what documentation is required for shipping purposes. Failure to complete the documentation required by PLI, in writing, can result in a delay of your shipment, storage and Customs penalties or fines.
AES FILING
If cargo value is greater than $2,500, by law we are required to file your information with US Customs. As a result, a $25.00 charge will be added to your invoice.
DESTINATION CHARGES
All international shipments are subject to destination charges. These charges can include the following: Port Fees, Customs Clearance, Terminal Charges, Agent Handling, Import duty, tax, VAT, etc. These charges are to be paid by the consignee unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Pretty Logical Intl.
CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
It is the responsibility of the consignee to clear customs at destination unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Pretty Logical Intl.
SHIPPERS RESPONSIBILITY
It is the responsibility of the shipper to know and understand the import laws and regulations of the country they are shipping to. It is also the shipper's responibility to make sure packaging is suitable for ocean transit.
HAZARDOUS CARGO
It is the responsibility of the shipper to declare any hazardous materials being shipped. A hazardous declaration must be submitted prior to booking. If you are shipping undeclared hazardous cargo, penalties, fines and delays may incur as a result.
US CUSTOMS
US Customs can hold, search and confiscate your cargo with or without warning. Any charges that incur as a result are to be paid by the shipper. If shipper refuses to pay, his/her shipment will be placed on hold until charges are paid in full.
PAYMENT
Payment is due upon receipt of invoice and prior to the shipments sailing date. If not paid on time, and in full, your shipment may be held and storage charges may incur.
PAYMENT METHODS
PLI accepts the following methods of payment: VISA, MASTERCARD, PAYPAL, CHECKS (must be pre-approved by management.)
=============================================================
Ocean rates are based upon the cubic space in the ocean container that the cargo occupies with the cost varying, depending upon the country and city destination.
We ask that your boxes be at least 3 cubic feet in size and that you use as many of the same size boxes as possible. These boxes will stack and stow evenly on a standard ocean shipping pallet. Although this is the best and most cost effective method, irregular box sizes can be accommodated but at slightly higher shipping costs.
Our rate covers warehouse receiving, tallying, loading into container, documentation and ocean transport. These costs are included in your box rate; however, there will be local destination/delivery charges upon warehouse release per custom of the port. This charge can either be prepaid or collected upon delivery. It is also important to understand that customs clearance, duties and taxes, if any, are the obligation of the receiving consignee; however, in most countries it is possible to clear customs yourself and normally duty is not levied on your own used personal effects. We cannot be held responsible for customs entry, but our delivery agent can offer this service should you choose.
Lastly, minimum charges are standard in the ocean transport industry and warehousing facilities. We attempt to keep these as low as possible and they are indicated in the country rates.
