Do you provide boxes?
No, you should provide your own boxes. It is very important that you use boxes that are strong enough to protect your goods and we suggest www.directmovingboxes.com which will tell you everything you want to know about moving boxes. We have had good results using this company and you can save with their kit prices and enjoy free shipping of boxes to your home. If you would like to go out and shop for boxes, we also recommend U-Haul.

How much can I ship at one time?
There is no limit to the size of your shipment. For large shipments please ask for our volume discount.
There is no weight limitation for a box as long as the weight capacity of the box is not exceeded.

Why are there minimum shipments?
The Maritime industry has fixed minimum charges per shipment that have to be covered. You can ship as little or as much as you want, but there is a minimum cost involved.

What does the price actually cover?
The rate covers all costs from warehouse receiving to arrival at the destination warehouse. See rate section. The only additional charges will be local delivery charges to consignee per the custom of the port and a $25 documentation fee.

How often can I ship?
Our schedule calls for weekly service to all areas. Boxes should be delivered to our warehouses by the date and time indicated on booking confirmation.

How long does it take to arrive?
Transit time depends on your destination. Europe is generally two weeks, most destinations in the Far East 4 to 5 weeks and India is 5 to 6 weeks.

When and how do I pay for my shipment?
Payment should be made after your boxes are delivered and tallied at the origin warehouse. We can invoice you with Paypal or you can call with your credit card details.

Can I insure my packages?
Marine insurance is rather complicated...but it can be purchased at $2.00 per $100 value ($75 minimum) but will not cover content breakage that has not been professionally packed. A word of caution here...I have seen other websites stating that steamship carriers offer free insurance up to $500 per package.....Sorry, it isn't so. What they are mistakenly referring to are the limitations of liability afforded carriers under international maritime law which is $500 per package/freight unit. This means that if the carrier is negligent for a loss, then they are obligated to pay only $500 per unit although the value of the unit is $10000. Keyword being "negligence". There are many losses that are not considered negligent whereby carrier is not responsible. These include Acts of God, Heavy Weather, Tsunamis, Stranding, General Average Strikes, Acts of War, improper packaging for export, etc. Bottom line, no matter what you read, there is not free insurance and you should protect your goods by arranging coverage. The cost is reasonable, so why not?
